Buddy Emmons Ending in C two different octave approaches using Low register & High register – 2 examples each – same notes

Here is an example of a Buddy Emmons ending in the key of C. This is laid out repeating the same exact notes – 2 examples in the low register and 2 examples in the high register. Take note in the high register rather than play the easy straight bar Dm7 at fret 6 this unnecessary leap causes a loss of fluidity so a reverse slant Dm7 better suits the ending. Take your time as you play them. This approach of choosing a closer chord voicing and opting for less movement gives a smoother feel and I like to call this the proximity technique which is crucial on lap steel. Moving the bar smoothly with the least distance necessary allows faster tempos to be achievable.
